It was repatriated in the 1990's and subsequentlycompletely restored and refinished by XK Engineering. A photographic account of the initial restoration can be discovered within the history folder. Literally just after the initial restoration was completed, this E-Type was supplied to a customer through Eagle in November 1999.One of the advantages of purchasingan E-Type from Eagles showrooms is the exclusiveaccess to the options offered when a full Eagle E-Type restoration is commissioned from them at a later date, so the decision was made to update this E-Type with a large selection of upgrades from Eagles extensive range, to include both Sport and SuperSport options to brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical systems. Some further options were also added in 2003.The car's ownerlived in Hong Kong, keeping the Jaguarin the UK to use when he was over here and, as this became less frequent, Eagle sold the car to its next owner in October 2005. He was to keep itfor the following nine years and was so smitten by Eagles work that he commissioned a full Eagle E-Type and sold this car as his new Eagle was nearing completion. Our vendor purchased this example in 2014 directly from Eagle who had taken theopportunity prior to the saleto refresh the engine as part of their pre-sale preparations, especially as Eagle had touched neither the body nor the drivetrain and running gear.Encapsulating the best of both worlds, this remarkable car retains the classic, meltingly beautifullooks of theearlyE-Type Roadsterswith enhanced performance matching that of mostmodern sports cars, improveddriveability, and the confidence-inspiring reliability that results from intelligent engineering, diligently applied.Years of research and development including many man-hours oflabour have been invested into this beautiful classic Jaguar, allowing its owner a thrilling and safe driving experience blending modern technology with classic engineering. Offered with the aforementioned detailed history folder, its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, E-Type handbook, Eagle service record, current V5c, old MOT Certificates, and the car's current MOT.
