Description
1963 JAGUAR TYPE E S1 Convertible 3.8L
French vehicle registration certificate
Chassis No. 878878
• Delivered new in New York
• Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate
• Original Carmen Red paint
• 3.8-liter engine (non-matching numbers)
Unveiled in Geneva in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type combines the styling designed by Malcolm Sayer with the XK six-cylinder engine. This first series was equipped with a 3.8-liter engine powered by three SU carburetors and is notably distinguished by its cork-lined aluminum dashboard.
Delivered new in New York, this convertible comes with a certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust confirming its original Carmen Red paint color. Its 3.8-liter engine meets the specifications for this version but is not the one originally installed; the car is therefore not a “matching numbers” vehicle.
It has recently undergone a service, including the replacement of the wheel bearings.
In this open-top configuration, the E-Type invites you to rediscover the joy of driving a 1960s British sports car, accompanied by the sound of its six-cylinder engine.
1963 JAGUAR E-TYPE 3.8 ROADSTER
French registration document
Chassis No. 878878
• Delivered new in New York
• Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate
• Finished in its original Carmen Red color
• Non-matching-numbers 3.8-liter engine
Unveiled in Geneva in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type combines Malcolm Sayer’s body design with the XK straight-six engine. The early series is powered by a 3.8-liter engine fed by three SU carburetors and is distinguished by details such as its patterned aluminum dashboard trim.
Delivered new in New York, this roadster comes with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate confirming its original Carmen Red color. Its 3.8-liter engine meets the specifications for this version, but is not the unit that was originally installed; the car is therefore a non-matching-numbers vehicle.
It has recently been serviced, and its wheel bearings have also been replaced.
With the top down, the E-Type invites its next owner to rediscover the joy of driving a 1960s British sports car, accompanied by the sound of its straight-six engine.
