Jaguar introduced the C-Type in 1951, with the ‘C’ standing representing a ‘competition’ model. The cars utilized the underpinnings of an XK 120, with a lightweight aluminum body designed by Malcolm Sayer. The XK 120 engines were tuned to produce 205-hp, a significant increase over a stock XK 120. A total of 53 C-Types were produced through 1953. The C-Type was replaced by the equally famous D-Type Jaguar.
This 1966 Jaguar C-Type Re-creation is presented in British Racing Green. The car rides on Dunlop tires mounted on Dayton 72-spoke wire wheels. With its right-hand driving configuration, the interior is completed with green bucket seats with dashboard toggle switches and Smiths gauges. A wood steering wheel truly captures the elegance of this racecar. Under the clamshell hood is a beautiful inline six-cylinder Jaguar engine which is mated to a manual transmission. The sounds of the inline six can be heard through side pipe exhaust. This is an excellent re-creation that truly encompasses the racing pedigree of the Jaguar C-Type.
