Built from February 1972 to March 1973, the Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 'Pre-export' is a particularly sought-after model. It was precisely this version which its current owner, a connoisseur of the model, tried to find for many months before tracking down this car in 2018 near Syracuse, where it had spent most of its life. He confirmed that he was won over by its condition and originality as much as by its elegant combination of 'Verde Chiaro' with a 'Nero' roof and upholstery. A demanding enthusiast, he entrusted the car to the renowned garage Steel Motors to get it into perfect condition and make it more reliable. Extensive work was therefore carried out on the running gear, brakes, cooling and electrical systems, for a total of more than 11,000 €. We were excited to test the car: the engine is well set up, lively and torquey, the gears engage positively, the clutch is progressive and the front suspension precise, making it particularly fun and pleasant to drive. Well-equipped in this 1300 version, this Mini with its Italian charm will appeal just as much to connoisseurs as to those looking for thrills behind the wheel.
