Description

The Honda NSX was always destined for stardom, a purposeful combination of sporty looks and well balanced mid-engine layout, mated to a high revving and powerful 3.0L V6 VTEC engine with excellent build quality and reliability

Penned by Chief Designer Masahito Nakano and Executive Chief Engineer Shigeru Uehara, the NSX achieved legendary status through its development association with Formula One ace Ayrton Senna, who helped to finesse and refine Honda’s flagship sports car, creating a superb high performance contender for Ferrari and Porsche at the time

This particular car is one of the first series ‘NA1’ cars, finished in attractive Formula Red coachwork with black roof and black interior. Delivered new to Japan with desirable 5 speed manual transmission, this right hand drive example was imported to the UK in November 2003 and was subsequently owned by highly respected Le Mans 24 Hour Veteran and BRDC member Simon Phillips

Phillips competed in sports car and endurance racing from the mid -1970s through to the early 1980s and contested the Le Mans 24 Hours race five times, his best result coming in 1982 driving the Nimrod Aston Martin NRA/C2 to seventh place overall and fourth in class sharing with Ray Mallock and Mike Salmon

Offered today in excellent condition throughout, having covered just over 90,000 miles from new (speedo is in KM/H) the current owner has cherished the NSX since he purchased from me in February 2014, at which time I owned the car and used it as my daily driver for the best part of a year! Maintained regularly and correctly, the cambelt, brake discs & pads were replaced in 2015 at 80,000 miles (service requirement every 70,000 miles or 7 years) new front brake callipers have since been fitted, new Bilstein front dampers and BOSE Hi-Fi door speakers & head unit refurbished

A well presented and usable example of Honda’s original mid-engine supercar, fitted with a full sports exhaust system and supplied with comprehensive service history, two sets of keys and cherished ‘NSX’ registration, a reliable modern classic that will bring a smile on your face and positive attention wherever it goes
