The stunning Hispano-Suiza offered here is a fine example of the rare 15/20 model. Built on a 2,900 millimetre wheelbase chassis and offering approximately 30 brake horsepower from its 2.6-litre, four-cylinder engine, it is believed that approximately 500 examples of the 15/20 were produced between 1910 and 1914, making this Coupé de Ville a rare and highly desirable offering.
Fully restored over a six-year period by Kutschen Ress of Bavaria, Germany, the car presents beautifully today. During the course of the restoration, a modern radiator was fitted for enhanced cooling performance. The engine was rebuilt, yet the consigning owner states it may need final fine-tuning to run smoothly. In addition, modern LED lighting replaced the existing carbide system so the car could be licensed for on-road use in Germany. Indicators, an electric fuel pump, and speedometer were also fitted, though all can be easily removed should the new owner desire complete originality. The restoration work exceeded €80,000 in total.
Little used since completion of the restoration, this rare and attractive Hispano-Suiza would make a welcome addition to countless pre-war tours, rallies, and events once it has been prepared for use on the road.
