1968 Ginetta G16 / BMW M10

This G16 was the first G16 built by Ginetta and was built to the open cockpit Group 6 regulations for sportscars. This car was originally delivered to Art Allen in California who raced the car in 1968 and 69 with both a Coventry Climax engine and also BMW M10. The car was then sold to the UK where it was restored and raced until it again sold to the USA in 1999. Since then the car has been raced very successfully in Historic Racing and has benefitted from a complete rebuild in 2013.

G16/001 is now offered for sale having undergone a comprehensive restoration including a new tubular space frame and all new bodywork from the original Ginetta molds. Plumbing, wiring, fire system, fuel cell, instruments are new. Engine and gearbox have had recent rebuilds (see below). This is a very well sorted, fast and beautiful open sports racer capable of winning in any field of comparable cars, and would be well suited to Masters Series and other Historic racing seared either in Europe, USA or worldwide.
