Description

"The Mk. I Ford Consul and Zephyr models were first displayed at the Earl's Court Motor Show in 1950. They were the first to use, in mass production, the MacPherson Strut independent front suspension, which is still widely used today. Production began with the Consul on 1st January 1951. The original model ran until 1956 when the Mk. II Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac went on sale and were known as the three graces. In 1956 the Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac were all restyled to a new family look. The six-cylinder engines were enlarged to 2,553cc with power output correspondingly increased to 86bhp. The Mk. II range was a big seller and finished its run in April 1962.
This handsome Zodiac was first registered on 10th June 1960 and has only had two owners from new. Presenting in good condition, this column change model is offered in the two-tone colour combination of maroon over grey with grey leather interior. With an interesting registration number of 2493 K this is a Ford from the heyday of the Rock'n'Roll era and is presented to auction with a V5C registration document, we are advised by the vendor he will present the car for an MoT test prior to auction even though she is MoT exempt. Classic Fords are currently enjoying a renewed popularity, having covered only 57,124 miles from new, this Zodiac represents an opportunity to enjoy a piece of British motoring history.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
