Description

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .** Monte Carlo Eligible - Mille Miglia Eligible **

The car has a very powerful 6 cylinder, which was also widely used in other machines such as trucks, vans, cranes, forklift,.. For example, it is very easy to order parts for this rare car today.

At that time, the car had a very ingenious suspension that later became known as the 'MacPhersons struts', so the car could easily reach 130km/h with only 23 mp/g (10 km/l).

The sedan body like this one was created by Abbots of Farnham and is therefore also sold as the Farnham body.

In 1953, Maurice Gatsonides won the Monte Carlo rally with a Ford Zephyr Six as he left behind a Jaguar Mark VII. Two years later Vic Preston and DP Marwaha won the East African Safari rally with a Ford Zephyr Six. The elegant carriage does not immediately show the rally device, but also in the prestigious Italian rally; the Mille Miglia, the Ford Zephyr participated from 1952 to 1957.

For both the Monte Carlo historic rally and the Mille Miglia historic rally is a weird eligible car your only ticket. And the fact that fewer Ford Zephyr's are now registering than 300 SL's is a good thing. This Ford has a better chance of a coveted registration than a 300SL of which 20 are already registered.

You can drive almost immediately as the engine is completely on point. Because of the overhauled starter, this Ford starts immediately! The engine runs very well, both in low and high revs. Still very powerful. Switches smoothly and the brakes are also performing well. A new gasoline tank should be placed in the back. Both interior and exterior not restored, as you can see in the photos it is in good condition. Only 2 owners since bought new in Belgium! A fantastic device, undervalued in price but still very much potentially possible. It's a hard, honest car.

Can be viewed and picked up near Kortrijk, Belgium.

It is recommended to view the car prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.
