Already gorgeous in presentation from its restoration in its correct color code W (Rose Beige) with interior code 76 (black crinkle vinyl with black pinstripe cloth), this Thunderbird has a few stories that go with it.
First off, this T-Bird is powered by a 390-cid V-8 engine and has conveniences such as air conditioning, wire wheels, fender skirts, radio; power windows, steering and brakes.
Among the reports that come with this example is that it was originally purchased by legendary entertainer, Bing Crosby, and he promptly loaned it to President John F. Kennedy when he visited Palm Springs and the President is said to have driven the first 106 miles that this car experienced on the road.
The other interesting feature is the report that the interior of the trunk is painted by Jack Armstrong, the “leader of Cosmic Extentionalism” modern art movement; with early connections to Warhol and with artwork that has sold for millions.
