Description

"Launched in 1954 as Fords answer to the success of the Morris Minor Commercial was the ‘Thames’ 300E which shared its bodyshell and 1,172 cc side valve four-cylinder engine with the Ford Squire estate. The van was offered as both a basic 5CWT model or a ‘Deluxe’ 7CWT panel van with 356kg of load carrying ability.
This 7CWT example benefitted from an earlier restoration and is presented in two-tone brown coachwork which is evocative of its era but is now showing signs of age. Overall, the bodywork appears solid with the brightwork and trim in good order. The cabin is basic and functional and features tan leatherette seats which are protected by plastic seat covers that have a period appeal of their own. An original set of factory mudflaps complete the look. This rare Ford is presented to auction with a V5C registration document and offered without reserve. Given that there are fewer than 50 Thames 300E models known to exist, this must be an ideal opportunity for any Ford enthusiast or a perfect promotional vehicle for a small business."
