PRICE REDUCTION! This is no text about a Mustang, no it is the story of success. The previous owner has singlehandedly restored this car to a standard never though possible in Europe. As a consequence he has won prize after after prize whilst keeping the car in perfect condition. The result you see before you is a top quality Ford Mustang that undoubtably will keeping winning. Is it too obvious to call this a full-blooded stallion? Who cares: it is a full-blooded stallion of the finest pedigree!

The bodywork looks stunning. As part of the restoration process the bodywork was taken back to bare metal and repaired where needed. When the previous owner bought the car it had a red finish which transpired not to be the original colour. When it went into the paint shop it came out in its original colour to which a new vinyl roof was fitted. The car has its original steel rims with chrome hubcaps that imitate wire wheels, exactly as Ford intended. The car’s reassembly is really where it shows its class. You could say it is easy to put a car back together but it is another matter expertly recreating perfection. If the brightwork fits flush and the alignment is on point, the paintwork fabulous and the windows shut properly, then my friend you have yourself a professional piece of work in hand. That is precisely what we have here; what a sight! We suspect they did not roll out the factory as tidy as this. A new interior trim was fitted. Again the quality and attention to authentic detail in the work is excellent. It has resulted in a stunning interior. There are new black carpets, black vinyl upholstery. Switches and controls have been replaced where needed and new brightwork attached. Thanks to good maintenance the interior still looks splendid. The fact the car has always been stalled in a heated garage since the restoration has most certainly helped in keeping everything pristine. The dashboard also looks resplendent purely decked out in original gauges and controls.

Turning our attention to the mechanics now we come across a fully rebuild of the moving parts. The engine was fully dismantled and rebuilt. The same happened to the automatic transmission and rebuilt using many a new spare part. A good restoration does not rely on sub-quality used spares and as such a completely new suspension and brake system was fitted. This has resulted in a very sharp and powerful Ford Mustang Coupé. The block was repainted, all consumables replaced as well as fully overhauling the carburettor. We are pretty sure this must be one of the very best and finest Ford Mustang Coupés to enjoy driving around in.

However good a restoration may be, it will not pull in those top prizes without reams of paperwork backing everything up. It is good for all you amateur restorers to remember the added value of all that documentation, be it invoices or photographic recording of all that hard work. Needless to say this car has it all, with invoices dating back to its American past. The photo album neatly takes you through each stage of the restoration, from the engine overhaul via the paint shop to the final reassembly.

If you are looking for the best prize winning 1966 Ford Mustang Coupé on the market, your quest is now happily at an end!
