Description

"The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March, 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April, 1964. It was, and remains one, of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 43 years. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. By 1969, the muscle car race was on and Ford offered a 351, 428 Cobra Jet and other performance engines available in most models and often ordered with the Fastback and Mach One cars. The '69 Boss 302 and Shelby (available since 1965), were specialty Mustangs offered with both high-performance engines and race-breed suspensions. Ford added a Fastback to its 1965 Mustang line-up but the convertible holds a special place in American culture and was heavily publicised as 'a car to escape the mundane nature of life.'
This exquisite Mustang presented in gleaming red and was restored between 2007 and 2009 to the most exacting standards, from the accompanying invoices and paperwork, which are substantial, it was obviously a 'no expense spared' restoration. This is the most superb example of the model we have ever seen, having the 289 4.2 litre V8 engine which sounds fantastic, mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, it also has a 'power' operated hood in white and superb black leather interior. Its detailing is faultless and must be seen to be fully appreciated. If you want the very best of the best, then this is the car for you. To summarise, a 1966 Mustang V8 manual in red with white roof, the sort of car that someone should write a song about. The car is UK registered with huge amounts of previous paperwork, invoices, MoT test certificates etc. A rarity which looks absolutely stunning and is quick with an engine note to die for! Superb!
