The 1930 Ford Model A had many advantages that went along with its low cost in the era. The continuing economy of keeping the Model A in service was due to its simplicity in design, high quality of materials utilized in the build and Ford accuracy in the manufacturing and assembly processes. With these many attributes it is easy to see why the pickup truck would be a welcome member of the sturdy Ford Model A lineup.
Restored in a correct frame-off manner and presented in Ford’s Pine Green with black fenders, chassis and wheels with tasteful red pinstriping; this nice looking pickup is powered by a 200.5-cid, 40-hp inline four-cylinder engine that is backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Among the features are a tilt-out windshield, windshield visor, driver’s side sidemount, mirror, chromed front bumper, dual taillights, vinyl-covered top, cloth interior, wire wheels, blackwall tires, finished wood bed floor and bed side rails. The Model A Pickup is reported to be in excellent running and driving condition having spent the majority of its last 17 years in a private collection.
It is reported that the Ford has a “well balanced engine,” plus it “drives extremely well and starts with ease.” The pickup has been housed in a climate controlled facility to help preserve the restored condition of this multiple show-winning vehicle.
