Description
Chassis No. AX4660005
After changing the world with the introduction of the Model T of which the Ford Motor Company would sell over 15,000,000 of across nearly twenty years of continuous production, the all-new Ford Model A was launched in December of 1927 boasting no carry-over parts from the Model T. An immediate sensation, Ford would estimate that some 10 million people viewed the new Model A within the first week and police departments were required in some cities to control the rush of people who wished to see the new Ford model. Offered in a range of body styles from an open-top two seater Roadster to open or closed cab Pickup truck models, the Model A was designed and built to suit the needs of a wide variety of Americans.
Finished in an attractive light yellow exterior with black accents and black vinyl roof, this 1931 Ford Model A Closed Cab Pickup joined The Gregorie Neck collection in 2009. An older but well-preserved restoration, this example features a flying quail radiator cap mascot, dual cowl-mounted Duolamp driving lights, side-view mirror, dual headlamps with Ford script lens covers, Sparton horn, and front and rear chrome bumpers. Firestone gum-dipped whitewall tires and painted wire wheels, dual side-mounted matching spare tires and rear bed cover covered in black vinyl complete the period-correct look of this Model A Closed Cab Pickup. Offered showing just over nine miles at the time of cataloging, this attractive Ford Model A is an enticing example for collectors interested in a classic easy-to-use example brimming with nostalgia.
