When Ford revived the GT once again, much like the four-time 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning original, engineers crafted a thoroughbred racer first and foremost. Its credentials as a continent-crossing road car were very much secondary. This was perhaps most apparent with the narrow passenger compartment and flying buttresses that greatly improved aerodynamic efficiency. The aggressive design strategy paid off handsomely, however, as history repeated itself. The blue oval once again beat Ferrari at the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2016 to chalk a GTLM class win 50 years after the GT40 had triumphed for the first time.

Given an incredibly close relationship to the race car, the road-going GT delivered a raw driving experience. Then, introduced for 2019, the limited-edition Carbon Series upped the ante even more. A polycarbonate engine cover and carbon fibre wheels were adopted to help save 18 kilograms over the standard car—even the cup holder was removed. Meanwhile, the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V-6 engine delivered 660 horsepower to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission for a three-second sprint from 0 to 100 km/h.

Only 1,350 of all types of the third-generation Ford GT were built. It is believed that a mere 50 of those were Carbon Series cars. Among them, serial number L251 offered here presents menacingly with a matte black wrap, accented by a pair of racing stripes in exposed carbon fibre. The exterior is further enhanced by the carbon fibre wheels, affixed with titanium wheel bolts and dark Brembo brake callipers. A similarly themed interior comprises black Alcantara with matte carbon fibre trim in addition to silver contrast stitching on the Sparco bucket seats and steering wheel—featuring silver-anodised shift paddles.

Delivered new to the vendor in Switzerland, the Ford GT was registered for road use on 9 March 2021. A service was performed in June 2025; however, the car has been very sparingly driven. It remarkably displayed just 261.3 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing and is accompanied by its owner’s guides and accessories.

Boasting single ownership from new and, as of one of the limited-edition Carbon Series cars, serial number L251 stands among the most desirable examples of the modern-day Ford GT.
