This stunning concourse "open cheque" book trophy winning restoration completed by GT guru Chris Dent from GT Restorations in now ready for her next custodian. Considered on of the best if not the best 1970 XW GT-HO Phase 2 available in Australia finished in one of the most sought after and rare colour combinations of Candy Apple Red with Black Vinyl interior. This multiple trophy winning example XW GT-HO Phase 2 is virtually a brand new car in all aspects with exterior/interior/mechanicals all carried out by the best in the business of restoring GT's. No expense was spared during the restoration, resulting in a very accurate example with only genuine and NOS/concourse parts used this beast is ready to keep winning and increasing in value if preserved this way. The GT.HO Phase II’s started to roll off the production line in June 1970. They were powered by the latest version of the Cleveland 351 4V cu.in motor that, breathing through a 750cfm Holley carburetor, produced some 300+bhp at 5,400rpm. Also her original GT.HO predecessors could be found in, amongst other areas, the transmission including a close ratio "long shaft" Top Loader 4 speed gearbox and a "Mount Panorama" prepared 3.5:1 31 spline 9-inch Daytona differential. Everything is period correct and date code correct and restored to win. The car comes with a large documented restoration file (including detailed photos) and is considered to be one of the best restored Phase 2’s around.

This highly desired XW GT-HO Phase 2 is being offered for sale for the first time with ONLY 2 owners from new!. Sold new in August 1970 by Keith Gill Motors Griffith NSW and then sold by the 1st owner to her only other owner privately back in late 90's. Now you have this amazing opportunity to secure this magnificent example. Only 287 GT.HO Phase II’s were made by the Ford Motor Co. and only a small proportion of these survive to this day. It is interesting to note that the GT.HO Phase II’s were the only GT.HOs never to be defeated at Bathurst driven by Motorsport Legend Captain Alan Moffat OBE.
