Description

Estimated Price: £25,000 - £30,000

  • Launched in 1976, an RS2000 Custom was an extremely aspirational purchase, with the distinctive polyurethane 'droop snoot' front end and air dam, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, SOHC Pinto engine offering 0-60mph in just 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 108mph, these cars were rather special
  • First registered in 1980 and supplied new by Frews of Perth, this RS2000 is understood to have spent much of its life in the Fife area, reportedly changing hands privately through word of mouth and owners' clubs. Affectionately known as 'Treble Five'
  • The base model RS2000 is now a less frequently encountered alternative to the better-known Custom, with many examples having subsequently been modified or upgraded to Custom specification
  • Believed to have gone through a £30,000 restoration which included a bare-metal, glass-out respray with the bodyshell mounted on a rotisserie, and finished in Venetian Red. The interior is believed to have been kept in its original brown cloth
  • It was then dry-stored for some time before returning to the road after refreshment and servicing
  • Supplied with limited paperwork, although there are photos of the respray
  • A smartly presented example retaining the character of the original base model, suitable for enjoying on the road or attending classic Ford shows and enthusiast gatherings
