The Cortina was built by the highly respected team Gipimotor into a successful FIA Historic touring car to run with the U2TC and Peter Auto grids in the following specification:

1965 Ford Cortina bodyshell – left hand drive, Freshly rebuilt Lotus Twin Cam engine, Weber 40DCOE 151 twin carburettors, Setrab oil cooler, Side exit exhaust, Thiebaut Racing FIA full cage, Tillett carbon fibre FIA seat – in date, Willans six-point harness – in date, Lifeline Zero 2000 plumbed in fire extinguisher – in date, ATL bag tank – in date, Facet Gold-Flo twin fuel pumps, Stack instruments, Plexi windows, Minilite wheels with Dunlop tyres, Period dash & door cards.

The current owner has raced the Cortina at many European meetings including the Spa-Classic, Spa Six Hours, Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or, Dix Mille Tours and the Monza Historic.

The Cortina is presented today in true race ready condition following a re-fresh by Gipimotor and is accompanied by a valid FIA HTP.
