Description
This 1983 Pininfarina Azzurra is a modified example that is finished in Azzurra Blue over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ Panasport-style wheels, dual Weber carburetors, a custom grille, fog lights, dual roll hoops, four-wheel disc brakes, Koni shocks and springs, and a Kenwood head unit. The car was has since undergone an engine overhaul in 2021 with only 100 miles added since. This Azzurra is offered with service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
Pininfarina took over the production of the Fiat 124 Spider as the rebadged Azzurra from 1982 to 1985, and this example was refinished in Azzurra Blue with a satin black hood, trunk lid, and wheel arch trim during previous ownership. Exterior features include a black soft top, a front spoiler, a custom grille with concealed fog lights, bullet-style side mirrors, Abarth-style bumperettes, and Fiat Abarth badging.
Aftermarket 15″ Panasport-style wheels are mounted with 205/50 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires. Koni shocks and springs have been installed. Larger front brakes from a modern Fiat 500 have been added along with rear discs in place of the factory drums.
The cabin houses seats that are upholstered in black leather along with matching door panels and carpeting. Woodgrain trim accents the dash and center console, and amenities include dual roll hoops, power windows, a digital clock, an Abarth-branded shift knob, and a Kenwood head unit. The shifter was repaired in August 2021.
A leather-wrapped Abarth steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 112k miles, with the engine be overhauled at 110K.
The 2.0L twin-cam inline-four was overhauled with replacement rings, gaskets, and internal components by Rivermont Auto Service of Chattanooga, Tennessee in August 2021. The Abarth valve covers were repainted red at that time as well. Equipment includes dual Weber downdraft carburetors, aftermarket camshafts, an aftermarket exhaust system, and an aluminum radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that is said to have been rebuilt during previous ownership.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Ohio, California, Oregon, and Tennessee. An Exceeds Mechanical Limits title was issued by the state of Ohio in 2012.
