Description
"It is not so often that a motorcar surprises us. The Fiat 500 surely needs little introduction, suffice to say that this compact car became ripe for tuning with Abarth leading the way in converting them into successful fast road and racing cars of the period. With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500.
This classic Fiat 500 started life as a ‘Lusso’ model when a previous owner who was declared an aficionado of the marque and well known for his work on Abarth’s in the northwest of Italy, carefully and sympathetically converted to an Abarth recreation. The 650cc engine has been rebuilt and fettled to an Abarth specification and includes the decals. The interior of this car replicates an original Abarth with a Jaeger binnacle, steering wheel and dashboard badging. Our vendor who is an avid Fiat 500 and Abarth collector has owned this example since 2016 and is selling due to rationalising his collection. Unlike many 595/695 Abarth recreations, the accuracy of this conversion and the attention to detail mean that this presents every bit the real thing but at a fraction of the price.
Guide Price £11,000-£15,000"
