Description

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .The Fiat 120 (500 Giardiniera) is a small car, but important for the economic growth of Italy: it is a compact “family car” used by families and artisans.
Successor of the Topolino Belvedere, it is based on the chassis of the Fiat 500 D, revised in several respects: length, engine, roominess (wider and more comfortable even for 4 people).
It was produced in much smaller quantities than the small Fiat 500 sedan from which it was derived.
An interesting novelty of this car is its new twin-cylinder “flat” engine created by Eng. Giacosa, who managed to create a twin-cylinder engine arranged horizontally to obtain a wider load surface.

This car was registered in 1972 and restored in 2020.
The car is neat and graceful in its most important details:

the body was repainted in its original white colour, with the addition of a nice “customisation” (that can be easily removed) consisting of a film reproducing fake wood grain, applied to liven it up; the seals are in good condition and many of them were replaced;

some sheet metal parts were replaced with new, original and painted ones;
the bumpers are new;
black interior in excellent condition as well as the panoramic hood (new), which extends over the entire roof of the car; covers and mats are new; the lamp holder was replaced;
the tyres are in order;
the rear shock absorbers were replaced;
the rear left light was replaced;
the electrical system was checked;
the front and rear brakes were checked and cleaned with a special solvent;

the car is not ASI registered and has a MOT valid until 31 July 2023;
it probably had 3 (including the seller).

Mechanics in good condition: the engine was overhauled and the clutch was redone; the gearbox and engine mounts were replaced, the oil (Q8 15w-40) and spark plugs were replaced.

The Fiat 500 Giardiniera has always been Italian, with original number plates and documents.

The car can be viewed by appointment in Rome, Italy.
