Description
"It is not so often that a motor car offered surprises us. The Fiat 500 surely needs little introduction, suffice to say that this compact car became ripe for tuning with Abarth leading the way in converting them into successful fast road and racing cars of the period. With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500. However, the surprise is the condition of this particular example.
This lovely Fiat 500 was discovered in Parma, Northern Italy in early 2017 and imported into the UK later in October of the same year. The Fiat was found to be in remarkable condition; easily confirmed by an overall inspection of the coachwork and, in particular, we encourage you to take a look at the undersides whose condition reflects that of the external coachwork. Mechanically, the 499cc engine is mated to an all-synchromesh 4-speed gearbox, feeling more powerful than a standard car. The brakes have been overhauled and new shock absorbers fitted all around. Further works include modification to an Abarth Recreation that involved over £1,500 of specialist parts being used and included the Jaeger instruments, wheels, exhaust, rocker cam cover, fuel tank, sump, grille, open engine cover modification and mirrors. There is a documented odometer change at 65,652km and the new Jaeger instrument reads 4km. We are advised that this UK registered Fiat 500 will arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT test certificate. Finished in the attractive combination of Fiat white with contrasting red interior, this is an exquisite example that has been very well executed; a fact that the true enthusiast will surely not miss."
