The debut of the 18 HP Fiat 500F happened at the "1965 Geneva Motor Show".
This model was different from the others for the doors hinged on the front, which were safer than the doors opening on the front side of the car, finally disappearing after 8 years from the first series.
The transmission was strengthened with a series of improvements on the clutch, drive shafts and differentials.
Inside, improvements were made to materials and equipment. It was with the Fiat 500 F that the manufacturer actually began to think about differentiating the range in terms of price, aesthetics and content.
The value of an Fiat 500 F "otto bulloni" is slightly higher than that of a normal 500 F: the name is given after the change of the doors opening way, now hinged with 4 bolts on each side.
Several "otto bulloni" (8 bolt) specimens are documented which retain some details of the previous D version, such as the speedometer, the light switch and the chrome ignition lock ring.
Other features that differentiate it from the other 500 F series are the band seats and without closing clicks, the door handles, the two-piece rear panels and the card holder, the door sills and the window lifts in aluminum.
The 8 bolts have another detail represented by the 6 screws that secure the rear grille (later be reduced to 3).
