The Fiat 500 D is one of the most sought-after versions, because it retains the suicide doors specific to the first versions, while addressing teething problems. It is all the more desirable in this rare trasformabile version whose roof can be uncovered right behind the rear seats.
Originally from Italy, this lovely 500 recently underwent a major restoration: its bodywork was dismantled before being repainted and all the seals were replaced. The upholstery has been redone in a more luxurious shade than the original. The carpets (including in the front boot) and mats are decorated with borders that recall the color of the upholstery and give the passenger compartment a plush appearance. To make the car more usable in current traffic, the engine displacement has been increased to 600cc, the gearbox has synchromesh, and disc brakes have been fitted to the front. A hazard warning system completes these very useful improvements. A luggage rack on the rear bonnet accommodates a small suitcase for additional luggage during long distance travels.
In perfect working order, and carefully restored, this desirable version deserves to join a fine collection and will satisfy those who wish to use the car in current traffic conditions.
