Description
1970 FERVES RANGER
Italian title
Chassis n° FVS0655
• Restored by an enthusiast
• Lamborghini-type triple coat paint
• Rare, distinctive, and fun
The Ferves Ranger is one of the rarities of the Turin automotive landscape. The brand Ferves is an acronym for "carlo FERrari VEicoli Speciali," and the carmaker produced around 650 units of the Ranger. According to the brand's club, there are around 50 surviving in working order.
The Ranger we are offering had a peaceful life in the Rome region, having had only two owners and had covered barely 17,900 km when it was forgotten in the back of the garage sometime in the early 1980s. Rediscovered by a collector in 2015, he had one of his relatives, a retired mechanic from the Ancona region, carry out a restoration in 2017. The Ranger was originally sound but had not been driven for 40-odd years and was completely dismantled.
The engine, transmission, brakes, electricity were overhauled. The body was stripped to the bare metal and carefully prepared to receive three coats of a beautiful metallic green from another Italian brand. In fact, our collector, being a Lamborghini fan, decided to repaint his Ranger the same color as his Gallardo! This special Lamborghini shade is particularly expensive to apply. The entire restoration of the Ranger exceeds € 20,000. The seats were redone, but some original features were retained as they were in good condition, such as the interior carpets, the soft top, and the side doors.
This is a rare car, and fun to drive, which could be the ideal base to reach in style, dream beaches, despite arduous approaches!
The auction of this lot will take place on Friday 18 March 2022.
