Description
For a long time, the Ferrari Testarossa reigned as the marque's top-selling model. Originally equipped with just a single exterior mirror in 1984, it will begin evolving as early as 1986. This transformation wasn't solely prompted by the designers' recognition of a flawed interpretation of regulations from Maranello, but also by numerous customer grievances regarding the lack of rearward visibility. The unveiling of this innovation took place at the Geneva Motor Show, marking the sole visible advancement.
The featured model belongs to the exclusive batch of 693 units crafted to meet European specifications in 1987. Notably, its chassis number falls below 75000, marking a pivotal moment for the brand. Historically, Ferrari's road models were identified by odd-numbered chassis since 1947. However, crossing this threshold signified a departure towards an indiscriminate allocation system. Remarkably, it was a Testarossa that pioneered this new numbering paradigm.
Though currently showcased in this stunning yellow hue, this Monodado was originally born in Bianco Fer 100 before undergoing a repaint at the request of a previous owner. Furthermore, it underwent a comprehensive service just weeks prior to this auction sale, documented with many pictures. It will be delivered with its original toolkit, its user manual, and spare wheel.
