In the history of exotic and sports cars, the Ferrari Testarossa must certainly be listed among the very best, most iconic and popular models ever.
Clearly, Ferrari had embraced Mauro Forghieri’s concept of utilizing a boxer (flat) 12 cylinder engine and wedge shape in Ferrari’s racing programs in sports car racing and Formula One. Certainly, the Testarossa must be Ferrari’s embodiment of this concept for their road-going cars. Designed by Pininfarina for Ferrari, the Testarossa is as dramatic a car as Ferrari has ever produced, long, wide, low-slung and that mid-mounted 4.9 liter flat 12, 4-valve engine that will comfortably propel the car to 180MPH.
The Testarossa made its public debut at the 1984 Paris Auto Show and was produced from 1984 to 1991 with two variant models, the 512TR and 512M. To that time, the original Testarossa stood as Ferrari’s most successful production car with nearly 10,000 produced, it was the most mass-produced car to emerge from Maranello until the 360 Modena.
This Testarossa, (#1651) is a early version with the famous Flying Mirror in Rosso Corso with creme interior. The car is a one owner example with only 11,238 miles and is a Platinum award winning car from the Ferrari Club of America Jersey Region Concours.
The car comes with all books, tools, window sticker and even the trophy from the FCA!
“At Curated, we do not acquire cars simply for inventory but rather based on what the car is. We love interesting provenance, very low production, very low mileage, very special and often weird cars.”
