The name refers to the ninetieth anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari. That is no coincidence: the SF90 Stradale is the first Ferrari to bring hybrid knowledge straight from Formula 1 onto the public road. The 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 produces 780 ps on its own, three electric motors bring the total to 1,000 ps. Two of those sit on the front axle, making the SF90 the first mid-engined Ferrari with all-wheel drive. Above 217 km/h that front axle decouples and all battery power goes to the rear, where it belongs. On the left of the steering wheel, alongside the familiar manettino, a second control appeared: the eManettino, a touch pad you press to select the entire powertrain mode, from pure electric to everything at once.

Fun fact: in eDrive the SF90 runs on the front axle alone. A front-wheel-drive Ferrari, silent, for up to 25 km. After that the V8 takes over and none of that restraint remains.

De naam verwijst naar het negentigjarig bestaan van Scuderia Ferrari. Dat is geen toeval: de SF90 Stradale is de eerste Ferrari die de hybride kennis uit de Formule 1 rechtstreeks naar de openbare weg bracht. De 4,0 liter V8 biturbo levert op eigen kracht al 780 pk, drie elektromotoren brengen het totaal op 1.000 pk. Twee daarvan zitten op de vooras en maken van de SF90 de eerste middenmotor Ferrari met vierwielaandrijving. Boven 217 km/u ontkoppelt die vooras en gaat alle batterijkracht naar achteren, waar hij thuishoort. Links op het stuur kwam er naast de vertrouwde manettino een tweede bediening bij, de eManettino, waarmee je met een druk de volledige aandrijflijnmodus kiest: van puur elektrisch tot alles tegelijk.

Leuk detail: in eDrive rijdt de SF90 uitsluitend op de vooras. Een Ferrari met voorwielaandrijving, geluidloos, tot 25 km ver. Daarna neemt de V8 het over en is er van die terughoudendheid niets meer te merken.

Ce n'est pas un hasard: la SF90 Stradale est la première Ferrari à transposer directement sur route ouverte le savoir-faire hybride issu de la Formule 1. Le V8 biturbo de 4,0 litres développe 780 ps à lui seul, trois moteurs électriques portent le total à 1 000 ps. Deux d'entre eux se trouvent sur l'essieu avant, faisant de la SF90 la première Ferrari à moteur central dotée d'une transmission intégrale. Au-dessus de 217 km/h, cet essieu avant se désolidarise et toute la puissance de la batterie part à l'arrière, là où elle a sa place. À gauche du volant, à côté du manettino habituel, une seconde commande est apparue: l'eManettino, une surface tactile sur laquelle on appuie pour sélectionner le mode complet de la chaîne de traction, du tout électrique à la pleine puissance.

Anecdote: en mode eDrive, la SF90 roule uniquement sur l'essieu avant. Une Ferrari à traction avant, silencieuse, sur 25 km. Ensuite, le V8 prend le relais et il ne reste plus rien de cette retenue.
