Description

The Ferrari Mondial is a mid-engined 2+2 grand tourer available as both a coupe and Cabriolet and was produced between 1980 and 1993. The Mondial took its name from Ferrari’s famed 500 Mondial race car from the early 1950’s. The Mondial was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina, with the bodywork being manufactured by the famous Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Scaglietti. It was conceived as a ‘usable’ model, offering the practicality of four seats, a slightly higher roofline than its stable mates and a single long door on both sides for easy access. Good interior space, reasonable legroom, excellent all-round visibility – all with the performance of a Ferrari.

The final Mondial evolution was 1989’s Mondial T. It was a substantially changed model and ‘Spearheaded’ a new generation of V8 Ferrari’s. The ‘t’ drew attention to the cars new longitudinally mounted engine and transmission layout. By adapting this layout, a longer engine could be mounted lower in the chassis, improving handling dramatically. The Mondial T is powered by a 3,405cc V8 engine which produces 300bhp propelling the car from 0-60mph in under 6.0 secs and onto a top speed in excess of 150mph.

The Ferrari Mondial T Cabriolet offered here at Autostorico is a 1991 “H Plate” and one of only 53 RHD examples. Having covered a mere 14,213 miles, this exceptional example was supplied new by Maranello Sales Ltd of Egham on the 31st May 1991 and is finished in Blu Sera metallic with Castoro leather interior. Specification highlights include; Air conditioning, Height adjustable suspension, 16” Alloy wheels, Electric windows, Central locking and original Ferrari tool kit.

The car boasts a comprehensive service history having been carried out by a mix of Ferrari main agents and latterly by McGurk Performance Cars. The most recent service was carried out at 14,115 miles in June 2019 with the cambelt being replaced in May 2018.
