At Ferrari, the tradition of producing roadsters based on its berlinettas goes back a long way. But until the Ferrari 348 Spider arrived, the convertibles were Targa-type models. After the F355 and the 360 Modena, Ferrari unveiled its F430 Spider at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. With a bolder design than its predecessor, the F430 Spider soon attracted plenty of attention, with details such as the front and rear lights and some of the air scoops recalling the Enzo. Under the bonnet, the 4308cc V8 revved very high, producing 490bhp at 8500rpm. The engine was now exclusively mated to a robotised F1-style sequential gearbox with six speeds. Its performance spoke for itself, with the standing kilometre covered in 21.6 seconds and a top speed approaching 320kph (200mph). Its exceptional chassis and faultless traction made it an easy sports car to drive, even for novices. And what can we say about the V8 soundtrack … which can no doubt be enjoyed best of all with the wind in your hair, the engine right behind your ears.

The Ferrari F430 Spider which we are presenting for sale was delivered new by the Modena Sport dealership in Toulouse on 10 August 2007. This model celebrates the marque’s sixtieth anniversary and has the chassis number 155920. Credited today with 58,500km (36,350 miles), it has been regularly maintained, as the service booklet confirms. Finished in attractive Bianco Avus paintwork with chrome alloy wheels, this Ferrari stands out from the customary Rosso Corsa. Its interior in red and black leather with carbon inserts adds a sporting note.
