The Ferrari F430 was manufactured from spring 2005 until mid-2009. Until the launch of the Ferrari 458, the F430 was the most affordable Ferrari and is the successor to the successful Ferrari 360, the best-selling Ferrari model to date. The mid-mounted V8 engine produces 490 hp, which, with the appropriate chassis and gearbox settings, enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in around four seconds. It was the first production Ferrari to feature an electronically controlled differential, the ‘E-Diff’. A switch on the steering wheel, known as the ‘Manettino’, can be used, amongst other things, to adjust the suspension settings. In addition, an open-top version, the F430 Spider, became available from spring 2005. It has the same V8 engine as the coupé, although the Spider’s body is raised by two centimeters and the car weighs approximately 70 kilograms more than the coupé version. This Ferrari F430 Spider was originally delivered in Switzerland; it was first registered on 4 January 2006 and handed over to its proud first owner by Niki Hasler AG in Basel on 10 January. For a new price well in excess of CHF 250'000, the buyer received a thoroughly sporty convertible featuring a 490 hp V8 engine, an optional automated 6-speed gearbox – known as the ‘F1’ – with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, carbon-ceramic brakes, red brake calipers, electrically adjustable leather seats in the Daytona design, and the usual features such as power steering, air conditioning, electric windows and an electric soft top. The Ferrari was a pleasure to drive and, in 2012, with 31'600 km on the clock at the time, it was sold again via Niki Hasler AG to its second and, to date, last owner. He enjoyed using the F430 for trips to his holiday home in sunny Ticino and ensured it received regular maintenance. In 2013, he had the air-conditioning compressor replaced; in 2017, the car was fitted with a new siren for the alarm system and a new window motor on the driver’s side; and in 2018, the right-hand side was repaired following a minor parking bump. The car’s last service took place in March 2019 at 58,654 km – so a service should be scheduled. With two previous owners and just under 72'000 kilometers on the clock, the Ferrari is in good, well-maintained condition. The car is being passed on to a new enthusiast, complete with a full service history, some receipts and a complete in-car folder, due to the owner’s advancing age. The most recent MOT was carried out in September 2024.
