The unveiling of the 812 Superfast at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show heralded the arrival of an astonishing supercar as Ferrari introduced a successor to the much-loved F12berlinetta. The famous Maranello marque took things to another level in 2021, however, when it unleashed the thrilling 812 Competizione.

While the original rear-wheel-drive, two-seat 812 Superfast had won universal acclaim on account of its exceptional agility and 6.5-litre 800 PS V-12 engine, the Competizione version upped the ante even further as Ferrari’s “ultimate expression” of an extreme front-engined berlinetta.

The brand’s vision was clear: to show what was possible when development is focused specifically on extracting the maximum performance and providing unparalleled driving pleasure. This was achieved by upgrading the V-12 to offer a phenomenal 830 PS, raising the rev limit from 8,900 rpm to 9,500 rpm and introducing many innovative engineering solutions, including lighter component parts.

The resulting performance figures were breathtaking: 0-100 km/h in 2.85 seconds, 0-200 in 7.5, and a maximum speed of 340 km/h. Adding to the appeal further was that only 999 examples of the 812 Competizione were produced, meaning it was highly sought after by brand aficionados. Unsurprisingly, it sold out immediately. In the three years since launch, the car has been a rare sight at auctions, ensuring it has become one of the most coveted Ferraris of modern times, so this 2023 example is certain to attract huge interest.

Bought new by its current—and only—owner, the supercar is noted to have been delivered in October 2022 and registered for the road in the following January. The Ferrari has a unique look and feel courtesy of a generous array of personalisation options that added more than €80,000 to its original €485,195 price tag. Two-layer special paint in Ferrari’s stylish Blu America shade is complemented by a central stripe in Giallo Fly with a Nero border, while the yellow theme continues via striking brake callipers and detailing on the Pirelli Color Edition tyres, which are fitted to 20-inch Ferrari F12tdf-style matt black forged racing wheels. The exterior is further distinguished by a carbon fibre rear diffuser and air vents.

Inside, square pattern racing seats are finished in Blu Scuro Alcantara adorned by yellow stitching and an embroidered Prancing Horse logo on the headrest, while further yellow detailing lifts the leather dashboard, and there’s a yellow rev counter, too. Matt-finish carbon fibre is used extensively throughout, including on the dash, parcel shelf, and door handles. Low-speed manoeuvres, meanwhile, are aided by the specification of a front suspension lifter and front and rear parking cameras.

In addition, this 812 Competizione is offered with “Yellow Book” Classiche certification from Ferrari, awarded in October 2022. Showing a mere 383 kilometers on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, this dramatic supercar represents a wonderful opportunity to experience the magnificence of Ferrari’s V-12 expertise, and is sure to capture the attention of collectors worldwide.
