The strength and distinctiveness of all Ferraris, the F1-type gearbox evolves on the 599 GTB Fiorano by adding a further operating strategy, the F1-SuperFast fast gearbox. In its name, this evokes the two key concepts: the derivation from the world of racing and the speed of implementation of the gearshift, representing one of the contents of greater innovation and technical exclusivity present in world premiere on a car for road use.

In traditional robotic gearboxes, shifting operations all take place in series with each other with the following phases: torque cut and clutch disengagement; gear disengagement, selection and engagement; clutch engagement and torque return. The engine is a 65 ° V12 cylinder with 5999 cm3 of displacement, with a specific power of 103 HP / liter. It derives its basic architecture directly from that of the Enzo Ferrari, already applied to the FXX track car, of which the crankcase, the cylinder heads, the cup and the geometry of the combustion chamber have been kept.
