Description

The 599 GTB Fiorano was at its time, Ferraris two-seat flagship, the successor to the 575M Maranello which it replaced it in 2006. The 599 is of course a spiritual successor to the legendary 250 GT, 275 GTB and Daytona. With an Enzo-derived 5,999 cc V12 shoehorned into what was the latest generation all-alloy chassis, the 620 bhp 599 GTB was at the time Ferrari's most powerful V12 production car ever.

The 599 took its name from its engine displacement Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature, and the Fiorano Circuit test track used by Ferrari. Styled by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari's Frank Stephenson, the performance statistics of the 599 are claimed to be a top speed of more than 330 km/h (205 mph), 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds, and 11.0 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph).

During production, an upgrade package was released named the "HGTE package", this consisted of stiffer front and rear suspension, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, a faster gear change thanks to gearbox upgrades, carbon-ceramic brake discs and an upgraded sports exhaust system. Owners had the options of ordering the HGTE package as an option when configuring their car, or having it installed later by a Ferrari authorized dealer.

Originally supplied in 2010 by H.R Owen to a collector based in Windsor, this individual specifically ordered this Nero Daytona 599 GTB with the HGTE package installed at the factory. Curiously, it was optioned from new with 20” Challenge-style wheels as opposed to the standard HGTE split rims, inspired by the 360 Challenge Stradale. The first owner used his 599 sparingly, in February 2013 the car was sold with circa 2,000 miles to the 2nd owner based in Berkhamsted. After three years of ownership and 3,000 miles, the second owner only sold his 599 as he relocated from Hertfordshire to San Francisco.

In 2016, DK sold this 599 to the current owner who in the past five years added yet another 3,000 miles. Even with the low mileage now nearing just 9,000, an impressive 9 Ferrari Main Dealer service stamps are shown. Furthermore, at point-of-sale, DK will carry out the correct annual service and replace all four tyres.

A favourite hue for the 599, ‘Nero Daytona’ blends superbly with the yellow stitching and Carbon Fibre, which is seen throughout the interior, the theme complemented by the exterior shields and Giallo brake callipers. Supporting this Ferrari is a solid maintenance record from day one, its complete factory tool kit, along with two keys, leather book pack with an accompanying history folio.

This three-owner 599 HGTE presents as a great way into V12 ownership, especially with it bearing the desirable aforementioned HGTE package and is available to view immediately just outside London.
