In 2004, Ferrari released a limited run of 559 examples of a striking and innovative convertible version of the 575M: the Superamerica. Drawing its name from the iconic Pininfarina-designed Lampredi V12-powered GT cars of the 1950s and '60s, the 320km/h Superamerica retained the 575M's 5,748cc engine, six-speed 'paddle shift' manual gearbox, and running gear together with its general design while featuring a unique pivoting photo-chromic roof. The work of Pininfarina's chief stylist Leonardo Fioravanti, creator of the legendary 365 GTB/4 'Daytona', it was the first roof of its kind ever fitted to a production car and was built using a carbon fibre frame integrated with electrochromic glass. The transparency of the glass could be adjusted from within the cabin to transmit varying amounts of light, letting in approximately the same amount of light as a conventional glass sunroof at its lightest setting and only 1% of the sun's rays at its darkest. With the press of a button, the Superamerica can be transformed into a convertible, with the roof rotating back to rest flush with the boot lid in just 10 seconds.

Optional on the Superamerica at the point of order was the Handling GTC upgrade package, which was developed for the Ferrari 575 GT Competizione Berlinetta, a model produced specifically for the FIA GT and GrandAm championships. This package is considered to be the most desirable option for the 575 model range as it includes carbon-ceramic brake discs with racing pads and special callipers; 19" wheels; stiffer suspension in 'Sport' mode; a titanium racing exhaust; and 'faster' calibration for the steering rack, greatly enhancing the performance of this already capable supercar. It is estimated that around 40% of Superamericas were built with this package.

Equipped with the desirable Handling GTC package, this supremely well-specified Superamerica was delivered new in Spain via Ferrari Barcelona and has had only one owner from new. Finished in its original Rosso Corsa with cream leather interior, this stunning Superamerica has covered only 26,843 kilometres from new and is described by the vendor as in excellent condition throughout. The car is offered with current technical inspection and Spanish Permiso de Circulación.

En 2004, Ferrari lança une série limitée de 559 exemplaires d'une version cabriolet spectaculaire et innovante de sa 575 M, la Superamerica. Tirant son nom des emblématiques GT à moteur V12 Lampredi dessinées par Pinin Farina dans les années 1950 et 1960, la Superamerica, capable d'atteindre 320 km/h, reprenait le moteur de 5 748 cm3, la boîte manuelle six vitesse à palettes au volant et les trains roulants, ainsi que les lignes générales du coupé 575 M, et adoptait un toit escamotable photochromique pivotant, très original. Œuvre du designer en chef de Pininfarina, Leonardo Fioravanti, créateur de la légendaire 365 GTB/4 « Daytona », c'était le premier toit de ce type à être adopté en série, faisant appel à un cadre en fibre de carbone enserrant un vitrage électrochromique. La transparence du vitrage était réglable depuis le tableau de bord pour faire varier l'apport de lumière, laissant entrer la même quantité de lumière qu'un toit ouvrant conventionnel à son réglage le plus haut et seulement 1% de rayonnement solaire au plus bas. D'une pression sur un bouton, la Superamerica pouvait se transformer en cabriolet, le toit pivotant pour se poser à plat sur le couvercle de coffre en moins de 10 secondes.

En option sur la Superamerica au moment de l'achat, on trouvait un pack d'optimisation de la tenue de route baptisé GTC, qui avait été développé pour la Ferrari 575 GT Competizione Berlinetta, un modèle produit spécifiquement pour la catégorie GT de la FIA et le championnat GrandAm. Cette option est considérée comme la plus désirable des options destinées aux modèles de la gamme 575, incluant des freins à disque céramique-carbone avec plaquettes compétition et étriers spéciaux, des roues de 19 pouces, une suspension plus ferme en mode Sport, un échappement compétition en titanium et une direction plus directe améliorant grandement les capacités de cette supercar déjà très performante. On estime qu'environ 40% des Superamerica ont été construites avec cette option.

Équipée de l'intéressante option GTC, cette Superamerica aux caractéristiques époustouflantes a été livrée neuve en Espagne par Ferrari Barcelona et n'a connu qu'un propriétaire. Dans son Rosso Corsa original avec intérieur en cuir crème, cette étonnante Superamerica a parcouru seulement 26 843 kilomètres d'origine et est décrite par le vendeur comme en excellent état général. La voiture est vendue avec son contrôle technique valide et son Permiso de Circulación espagnol.
