To mark the 70th anniversary of design house and long-time Ferrari collaborator, Pininfarina, a run of 448 examples of the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was commissioned. The car offered here is the 152nd of that series, and factory records show a 15 June 2001 production date. Finished in Grigio Alloy, which is complemented a Bordeaux Connolly leather interior trimmed with Alcantara to make for a stunning overall configuration, this example was delivered the following month via official Ferrari dealer Sa.Mo.Car. of Rome, Italy.
The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina would later spend time in Spain (where it was temporarily reported stolen but is now marked as clear—details on file), receiving a service in May 2015 at Maranello Rosso of Madrid, at which point the odometer was recorded at 9,563 kilometres. That figure had only marginally increased to 9,912 kilometres come December 2022, when the car was serviced and the 4,474-cc V-12 engine treated to a belt change by Scuderia Gladbeck of Germany.
Accompanied by a Ferrari car cover and convertible roof, this 550 Barchetta Pininfarina displays 9,972 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/tc24/.
