MODEL HISTORY
The Ferrari 512 BB was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1976. The 512 Berlinetta Boxer was the revised successor to the 365 GT/4 Berlinetta Boxer. The key feature of the 512 BB was the twelve-cylinder engine with an increased displacement of 5 liters. The engine offered the same power at lower revs, better torque and smoother power transmission than the previous version. The body designed by Pininfarina differed only slightly from the previous model. However, some changes were not only of an aesthetic nature, but also helped to cool the engine better. Between 1976 and 1980, 929 units were built.
ABOUT THIS 512BB
Our car has been built in November 1977 and was delivered new to its first owner in Düsseldorf, Germany on the 10th of March 1978 by Auto-Becker. In its early life the car has been well used. In October 1978 the car has already had its 15.000km service. The car was continuously used and after a couple of years it was imported into Switzerland and registered in the name of a Swiss lady. She kept the car until 1994 when the car was sold. We purchased the car in 2019 and had several components of the car refreshed. Today the car is presented in a very typical colour combination of Rosso on the exterior with Nero exterior trim over Nero leather on the interior. The car is equipped with Daytona-Style seats with red inserts which perfectly matches the two-tone exterior. The car’s odometer currently shows a mileage of 64.919 km. Recent works also include an overhaul of the carburettors. Today this car is presented in fantastic condition and ready to be experienced by its next custodian.
