Description

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Sealed October event, Bidding Closes 28 October 2026.

  • Offered from The Rosso Collection
  • Presented in virtually as-new condition with just 570 miles from new
  • Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Nero Stellato racing livery
  • Open-top variant of the track-focused 458 Speciale; limited to just 499 examples
  • The last naturally aspirated Ferrari V-8; 4.5-litre engine delivers 597 horsepower

Completed by Ferrari in January 2015, this 458 Speciale Aperta was delivered new to its original owner via Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro, North Carolina that spring. It left Maranello finished in Ferrari’s timeless shade of Rosso Corsa complemented by a contrasting racing livery in Nero Stellato—a rich metallic black seldom seen on Ferraris—with white dream lines on the inside of the stripe. The interior, meanwhile, is fully trimmed in Nero Alcantara with Rosso stitching, Rosso seat inserts, and a yellow tachometer. Carbon fiber has been deployed extensively on the door panels, dashboard, door sills, steering wheel, and transmission tunnel, while further options include Rosso-painted brake calipers, front and rear parking sensors with parking camera, carbon fiber rear diffuser, and a carbon fiber front splitter.

According to the accompanying Carfax report, the Speciale Aperta remained registered in North Carolina until 2021, when it was imported to Canada. The report notes that it had covered just 177 miles from new at that point. It remained in Canada until June 2025, when it was reimported to the United States and registered in Florida, where it has remained ever since. In September 2025 at 547 miles, the car was sent to Ferrari of Palm Beach where four new Michelin tires were fitted, sticky interior buttons were repaired, and a two-year service was carried out which included an oil change and fitting eight new spark plugs. In July of this year, the car returned to Ferrari of Palm Beach for a new battery. Today, the car is showing just 570 miles from new and presents in virtually as-new condition, thanks to its exceptionally low mileage and full body paint protection film.

The 458 Speciale Aperta brings to bear all the hallmarks of collectability in today’s Ferrari market. Not only was this the last naturally aspirated mid-engined V-8 model to be built by Ferrari, but it was also the final mid-engined V-8 Ferrari to be designed by Pininfarina. With a limited production run of just 499, its place in Maranello history is assured.

From that small number, this car stands apart. Its exceptionally low mileage, tasteful styling, and comprehensive specification are hugely appealing, and it would sit proudly in any collection of significant modern Ferraris.
