In 2009, Ferrari marked the Scuderia’s record 16th Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship with one of the greatest roadgoing supercars of the modern period, and the fastest open Ferrari to ever lap the firm’s Fiorano test track: the Scuderia Spider 16M.

The new car was heavily based on the hardcore “Scuderia” version of the firm’s flagship F430 supercar, borrowing the closed car’s scintillating 503-horsepower 4.3-litre V-8 powerplant—further refined with redesigned pistons and a higher compression ratio—and its F1-superFast2 six-speed gearbox. Incredibly, Ferrari engineers simultaneously reduced the new model’s kerb weight, removing 80 kilograms of mass thanks to lightened front and rear bumpers, forged alloy wheels exclusive to the model, and re-worked front suspension and steering. Even wheel bolts were reproduced in titanium—proof of Ferrari’s unswerving commitment to weight-saving.

This example was delivered to first owner on 15 September 2009 via Loris Kessel Auto S.p.a of Grancia, Italy. The car was finished in Rosso Corsa over a Nero interior, benefitting from options including carbon-ceramic disc brakes, silver brake callipers, Giallo instruments, and a “Tricolore” racing stripe livery. Remaining in Italy for the first period of its life, the Ferrari received service stamps from Grancia-based Racing Car S.A. in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2018. It received further service stamps from Ferrari Autohaus Gohm in Singen on 11 January 2022 and, most recently, from Supercar Garage in Munich on 23 March 2023. Its odometer read 19,687 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, while it is accompanied by a tyre inflator, umbrella, and tool roll.
