Description

The Ferrari 400 GT, from 1979 called 400i, was presented on the 1976 Paris salon and the design had evolved from the well-known and most elegant Pininfarina design of the predecessor Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. Technically not much had changed but the V12 now had 4.8 litre capacity and delivered 315 DIN horsepower and for the first time an automatic gearbox became available. The example offered boasts the most desirable 5 speed manual gearbox and, according to the Swiss registration, was delivered in Switzerland. The history of the sporty 2 plus 2 coupé is not known but it seems to have spent most of its life since the 80s in a garage in the Vaudoise Canton. Obviously, the Ferrari was repainted several years ago from the original brown to the current red. The Ferrari 400 GT present itself in good overall condition, is running faultlessly and the 61’300 kilometres indicated most probably correspond with the true mileage. The most recent Veteran MOT was completed in March 2025 and therefore the Ferrari can be registered immediately. Due to the extended period of inactivity, a major service would be recommended before the car is regularly used once more.
