Description

This beautifully presented 365 GTB/4 was ordered new via Maranello Concessionaires, Surrey, in March of 1971 and delivered to its first custodian, a Mr B. McGrath. The car was optioned in Rosso Chiaro over Black interior with grey carpets, the same specification it wears today.

The car then found its way to Sevenoaks, Kent, where its second owner, a Mr J. Durlacher resided. He owned the car for many years before it came into the hands of its third owner in central London who owned the car for 10 years. The car changed hands to its fourth keeper, a Mr Palmer, where it spent the next 12 years situated in the peak district.

Mr Palmer commissioned a well-known Ferrari engine specialist to rebuild the Daytona’s engine at 59,000 miles with no expense spared, as proven by the numerous invoices present within the cars history file.

The penultimate owner purchased the car via Henry Pearman of Eagle E Types, fresh from a full bare metal body restoration and suspension overhaul, totalling just over £120,000.

This excellent example which is 1 of 158 UK right hand drive cars benefits from full cosmetic and mechanical restoration but still retaining its original interior with the period ‘Luke’ racing harnesses, original handbook, document wallet, warranty card, user’s manual and shell duster.

A fully matching numbers example as confirmed via Ferraris Classiche Department, this superb Daytona is ready to be enjoyed by its new keeper.
