With a developing Ferrari refinement; the 365 GTC/4 was introduced in March 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show. As with the Daytona, it was one of the first Ferraris to have been influenced by the newly installed wind tunnel at Pininfarina. Sharing much with the Daytona; technical and design adjustments adapted the car to its 2+2 intention. It received a five-speed gearbox to replace the Daytona transaxle; the Weber carbs were side-draft units on the 4,390-cc, 320-hp, DOHC V-12 engine to adjust for the low hood line. Ferrari would build 505 examples of this model, but only 180 would be distributed for the U.S. market.

This well documented Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is elegantly finished in a recent high quality silver repaint over a very straight body and is fitted with a contrasting black leather interior with dark red carpets and rear shelf. This 365 GTC/4 carries chassis #15331 and has only three well documented long–term owners from new, with the original warranty card from first being sold by Hollywood Sports Cars in 1972. The black leather interior, carpets and headliner are excellent, as with the dash and center console “mouse fur” plus the leather–trimmed dark red carpets.

Mechanically, this 365 GTC/4 has been treated to a fully–photo–documented $34,541.95 engine overhaul by Fiorano Motors, Monterey, CA. Chassis #15331 makes excellent power with no smoke and has excellent oil pressure. The suspension is soft and compliant, and the four-wheel disc brakes stop the car effectively and evenly. The second gear synchro is good, both when warm and cold. This is a wonderfully driving car, and thanks to factory power steering, all the controls are light to the touch and operate harmoniously. The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 exemplified the best balance between performance and luxury, combined with the wonderful Ferrari V–12 exhaust note, of any Ferrari built in the “Enzo era.” This C/4 sits on repainted Cromodora factory knock-off wheels with very good Michelin XWX tires.

Ferrari #15331 comes with the full set of books, all supplemental radio and dealer service network booklets, the very rare original matching warranty card and the leather carrying pouch. It has the original yellow wiping rag, plus the jack and the jack bag. Also included are a shop manual, all receipts and work orders plus the photo album and a file with much of the original long-term service work.
