Description
Chassis No. ZFFDT57B000137263
Some cars are born in a design studio. The Challenge Stradale was born in the paddock. Its story begins with Ferrari Challenge, the one-make racing series Maranello launched in 1993 for gentleman drivers. The 348 Challenge started it all, followed by the F355 Challenge. In 2000, the 360 Challenge carried the torch forward. Unlike its predecessors, which were largely road cars converted for competition with factory-supplied kits, the 360 Challenge was built in Maranello as a race car from the ground up.
Ferrari brought that racing DNA to the road at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2003. The name says it all: Stradale means "road" in Italian, and the Challenge Stradale was conceived as a road-legal distillation of its track-bred counterpart.
The Challenge Stradale sheds 110 kg compared with the 360 Modena, thanks to extensive use of aluminum, titanium, and, above all, carbon fiber. The lightweight material features throughout, from the floor pan and door panels to the seat shells and side mirrors derived from the 360 GT race car. The cabin follows the same uncompromising philosophy, with the instrument cluster, centered on a prominent tachometer, framed by carbon fiber. The steering wheel is unique to the model, with an extended right-hand paddle designed to make upshifts easier on corner exit.
At its heart sits a 3.6-liter V8 producing 425 PS at 8,500 rpm. At the time, it was the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari had ever fitted to a road car. Peak torque remains unchanged from the Modena at 373 Nm at 4,750 rpm, but the engine's character encourages the driver to explore the upper reaches of the rev range. The F1 electro-hydraulic transmission also benefits from revised control logic, reducing shift times in every mode to as little as 150 milliseconds.
The chassis received an equally focused overhaul. Stiffer titanium springs at both ends, a larger anti-roll bar, dedicated damper calibration and a 15 mm lower center of gravity give the car a distinctly competition-bred stance. Revised aerodynamics generate 50 percent more downforce than the Modena, while standard Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the Enzo mark a first for a V8-powered Ferrari, with dedicated 19-inch Challenge wheels.
Delivered new to Helsinki through Scuderia Catamount Oy, this Challenge Stradale is one of only a handful-an estimated 22 worldwide, with fewer than ten delivered new in Europe-finished in elegant Bianco Avus over a two-tone red Rosso and black Nero Alcantara interior, complemented by extensive carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin.
Shortly thereafter, the car made its way to Japan, where it was meticulously maintained by European supercar specialists, including Rosso Scuderia, Ferrari dealer, as documented by the accompanying Japanese service records and its clean CarVX Report.
In 2024, the car crossed the Pacific to Canada, where it underwent a diagnostic inspection at Ferrari of Vancouver, followed by a major service at Advanced Level Autosports around 28,000 kilometers on the odometer. The work included a timing belt service, replacement of the accessory belts, water pump and thermostat, engine oil and filter service, spark plug replacement, F1 system service, transaxle service, relay and accumulator replacement, brake fluid replacement, power steering flush, engine mount and transmission mount replacement, front and rear suspension rebuilds, and dashboard removal for repair followed by reinstallation.
The 360 Challenge Stradale was imported into Switzerland in 2025, where, in October, it underwent the work required for Swiss registration at Cartech.ch Autotechnik AG in Chur, at 28,513 km. This included a vehicle inspection for the Swiss roadworthiness test and presentation to the Swiss road traffic authority.
A recent paint-thickness inspection, with report on file, indicates that the car retains its original factory-applied paint, with repainting limited to the front bumper. The car has also benefited from paint protection film (PPF), polishing and ceramic coating, on February 2026 with invoice from Cartech.ch Autotechnik AG in Chur on file, totaling CHF 12,114. The car returned to the workshop more recently in September 2026 for further servicing, as per the stamp in its duplicate service book.
With its distinctive and ultra-rare color combination, striking interior, just 31,545 km on the odometer, and documented maintenance history, this Challenge Stradale is among the rarest and most sought-after examples of its category and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a true 'race car for the road', fully homologated for Swiss roads.
