Description

The 328 GTB, along with the targa roof 328 GTS, represented the final developments of the naturally aspirated transverse V-8 engine 2-seat series. The 328 figures featured in the model title referred to the cubic capacity of the engine, 3.2 litres, and 8 for the number of cylinders. The new model was introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt motor show alongside the Mondial 3.2.

Essentially, the new model was a revised and upgraded version of the venerable 308, albeit with improvements made to the 3.0-litre engine. Stylistically, the 328 stayed true to its predecessors iconic 1970’s silhouette. The most noticeable change being a small roof spoiler added just aft of the rear roof line ahead of the engine bay. Subtle changes were also made to soften the wedge profile such as moulded bumpers and a more petite front grill. In conjunction with the 328’s exterior, the models interior also benefitted from more supportive seats and an overall more superior quality of fit and finish.

This particular RHD 328 GTB was supplied new through Lancaster Ferrari Colchester to a Mr. Roger Gawn in January 1988 as one of just 130 examples built for the U.K. market. The car was ordered in the classic colour scheme of Rosso Corsa over a Crema interior with Rosso carpets, just as it presents today. Extremely well maintained, this 328 comes with an extensive history file, documenting in detail the vehicle’s service history. In July 1990, the 328 would be sold to Hugh Boucher who would own the car for five years before being sold to . Kevin Wilson via Maranello Concessionaires in October 1995. Mr. Wilson would continue to maintain the thorough service history for the car using respected local marque specialists.

Having amassed only 21,599 miles the 328 was then sold to the fourth owner in July 2004 before passing onto the most recent owner in January 2007. Prior to this most recent sale. a through pre-delivery service and reconditioning was carried out by renowned Ferrari specialists Nick Cartwright Specialist Cars. Under the most recent owner’s tenure, the vehicle has been maintained with little regards to expense including a recent major service in 2020 during which the timing belts and bearings were replaced. Presenting today in fabulous condition and showing just under 29,350 miles from new, this is a 328 GTB that wants for nothing and is available to view at our showrooms located just outside London.
