Considered today as one of the best berlinettas to come out of Maranello, the 328 was a resounding success, but it is the GTB – the closed version – which is the rarest. Let us return briefly to the story of its development, starting in 1975, when the 308 caused a sensation when it was presented in Paris. It quickly became a bestseller for the company in Europe and, above all, in the United States. Adored for its styling, but also for the performance delivered by its engine, it was continually developed over 10 years. The model name changed when a larger engine arrived. In 1985, the 328 was introduced, bringing with it a number of technical and stylistic developments aimed at continuing the success enjoyed by its predecessor. The engine capacity and power output increased, the bumpers now recalled those of the Testarossa and the interior was completely revised, a series of improvements which made the car far more pleasant to use.
Our Ferrari 328 GTB was delivered new on June 14, 1989 in Sweden with the Rosso Corsa color and a light beige leather interior. In near perfect condition, this car still wears its original paint and the interior is close to new. It was bought in 1997 by its second owner through the British specialist DK Engineering with only 2,547 km on the clock. His maintenance book assures us that the car has always been maintained by the last owner in a scrupulous way. We also have a fairly large file with all the maintenance invoices. Its current owner is won over by the exclusivity of this model in April 2015. Finally, he will only use it sparingly, taking care to maintain its perfect functioning. Getting behind the wheel is a real pleasure as its performance is still top notch and its driving smooth and pleasant. The market now gives reason to the collectors who have chosen a car with such a history and with its original booklets, duplicate keys, tool kit and Ferrari certificate. With so many arguments, there is no doubt that this Ferrari 328 GTB will make its future owner a happy Ferrarist!
