Description

According to its Ferrari Classiche Red Book, which was issued in November 2015, this striking example of Maranello’s famed mid-engine berlinetta was delivered in May 1980 to the Milanese dealer M.G. Crepaldi. Equipped with the desirable European-specified dry-sump carbureted engine, chassis 31319 was finished in the rare color of Verde Medio Metallizzato, and the interior was trimmed with tan Vaumol leather. Initially registered in Brescia to Giovanni Bresciani, the handsome car had passed to a known chain of three more private Italian owners by 2014, when it received a major engine and belt service from GPS Classic in Soragna, Italy.

In 2016, the low-mileage Ferrari was purchased by the consignor, a New York-based collector who recognized its rarity and acquired the car to tour Italy and Southern France. After that journey, the 308 was imported to the US and serviced as needed. Displaying 15,953 km at the time of cataloguing, this steel-bodied GTB features its original factory-upholstered interior, and benefits from a repaint, as the original lacquer was known to deteriorate quickly.

Per the Classiche Red Book, 31319 retains all of its original major mechanical components, including the matching-numbers engine, while the alloy wheels have been upgraded with larger 16" units. This minimally driven carbureted GTB would ably complement any collection and is ideal for exhilarating drives or presentation at FCA events.
