•Rare factory-built Devin D, originally delivered new to Europe in 1961
•Comprehensive no-expense-spared restoration, documented by more than 400 photographs
•Powered by a restored Porsche Type 616 engine developing approximately 120 hp
•Porsche 356-derived VDO instrumentation, finned brake drums and desirable VDM WERKS steering wheel
•ACI/CSAI certified and road registered in Italy

Originally delivered to Europe through German importer Fa. Hubert Souren KG in early 1961, this Devin D is a rare factory-built example with long-standing European provenance.
Period documentation, including a late-1960s German Fahrzeugbrief, further supports the car’s history. Believed to have originally been supplied in Touring specification before later evolving into the more desirable Sport configuration, it was equipped from new with Porsche-derived mechanical components, including its braking system and instrumentation.
Discovered in Northern Germany in restoration condition during the late 2000s, the car retained many of its important original features, although its original 1500 cc Porsche engine was no longer present. Acquired by its current owner in 2025, it subsequently underwent a comprehensive restoration carried out to an exceptionally high standard.
The chassis was completely stripped, sandblasted and restored, while the fiberglass body was carefully corrected and refinished in period-appropriate Speedster Blue (Code 602). The cockpit was retrimmed in textured tan vinyl inspired by period Porsche 550 RS interiors, creating an authentic competition-inspired atmosphere.
The cabin retains its strong Porsche connection through 356-derived VDO instrumentation and an especially desirable VDM WERKS steering wheel.
Mechanically, the Devin has been comprehensively rebuilt. The suspension and braking systems were fully overhauled and upgraded with Koni shock absorbers and finned Porsche 356B brake drums. A correct-style 6V electrical system was also installed, together with a reduced-ratio starter motor to improve usability and reliability.
Power is provided by a carefully restored Porsche Type 616 engine, rebuilt with oversized pistons and cylinders, precision balancing and detailed calibration. Equipped with twin Weber IDF 40 carburetors and a Sebring-style steel exhaust system, it produces approximately 120 hp — a particularly compelling figure in such a lightweight chassis.
Fresh from restoration, the car is accompanied by extensive photographic documentation comprising more than 400 images, a historical file, Italian documents and ACI/CSAI certification.
With its factory-built specification, European provenance, Porsche-derived mechanicals and comprehensively documented restoration, this 1961 Devin D Porsche represents a rare and highly engaging opportunity for the collector seeking an unconventional but historically significant lightweight sports car.
