Description

Prior to being the talk of the town, and the star of numerous Paris Motor Shows with the latest in couture automotive fashion, Delahaye had built a well-deserved reputation for producing cars of superior quality, in addition to commercial vehicles such as buses and fire trucks.

This Type 87 Limousine is powered by Delahaye’s own 30 hp 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder engine and offers an elegant though unrestored interior space with curved glass panes outboard of the sliding divider. The rear compartment is finished in cloth, offering additional stowable seating built within the division panel. The windshield and rear glass panes display several vintage decals, no doubt collected during the car’s years of faithful service. The Mullin Collection acquired this formal automobile as a part of the famous Schlumpf Reserve Collection in 2008. This Type 87 Limousine typifies the qualities found in Delahaye’s models prior to the legendary fanfare that followed.

*Please note that all of the Lots in this Auction have been in long-term static storage at the Mullin Automotive Museum and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention and in some cases significant restoration prior to any road use.
