Description

Estimated Price: £40,000 - £45,000

  • Purchased by the present custodian as a dismantled project after at least 15 years in storage, this 260Z has since undergone a comprehensive restoration to a fast-road specification, retaining the model’s distinctive character while enhancing its performance and usability
  • Stripped to a bare shell, the body was repaired, prepared and refinished in yellow, with restoration extending to the engine bay, door shuts, wheel arches, interior and underside. A comprehensive photographic record documents the work throughout
  • The original engine has been replaced by a rebuilt L28 straight-six, featuring a rebored block, forged pistons and rods, uprated and ported cylinder head, racing camshaft, triple Dellorto carburettors, 123 electronic ignition and Z Story exhaust system. Further enhancements include an uprated cooling system, performance clutch and lightened flywheel, with rolling-road tuning completed
  • Correspondence from 2021 records limited-slip differential work commissioned directly with RT Quaife Engineering Ltd, complementing the car’s performance-focused drivetrain
  • The chassis and handling have received equal attention, including adjustable BC coil-overs, Silver Project suspension components, adjustable rear links and replacement bushes, with final geometry and alignment work. Period-style Z Story alloy wheels are shod with Nankang AR-1 tyres
  • Braking is upgraded with a Wilwood front conversion incorporating multi-piston calipers and vented, drilled and grooved discs, complemented by a Wilwood one-inch master cylinder
  • The bespoke interior, by Bernard Newbury at a cost of £5,260, features Porsche Braun Premium Nappa leather, OMP bucket seats with perforated centres and embroidered detailing, while retaining the original-style dashboard instruments and period-style wood-rim steering wheel
  • Finished with a rear spoiler, black and silver number plates and twin exhaust outlets, the car is accompanied by collated invoices, purchase records and photographic documentation. Subsequently maintained by L M Supercars, a full schedule of works is available upon request.
